You are twelve, that's your reflection in your mirror,
you think you are special, you think you are different,
you don't fit with regular people,
yet you go to school, meet people and make friends.

Now you are sixteen, you look at pictures from when you were twelve,
that's a change, now you are a grown up, you still are special,
you'll never fit with regular people, you are smarter and cooler than them,
yet you go to high school, meet people and make friends.

Twenty, an adult, you realize you were a kid until now,
you complain about teenagers forgetting that two days ago you were one of them,
all your thoughts about being better than them are gone but you feel special,
you don't fit with regular people at all but you join them in their lifes,
you go to university, meet people and make friends.

You look back, you are twenty-five now,
something has finally changed.
You don't know if you are an adult anymore,
you know you are not a kid for sure though.
You realize you have been always thinking you never fit,
that wherever you where you were an independent individual.
You don't think you are more special than other people,
you start seeing every single soul is special in its own way,
all of us are special,
you went to places, you met people and you made friends,
the story was the same because there is always a place for you,
because there is always a place where you fit,
because you are not that different from them,
you are a human and that is what makes us special, uniques and one.

And all seems like a dream,
approaching to an end,
later than I thought,
sooner than it feels.

It's not always sunny,
even the sun is always there.
Sometimes, when clouds appear,
you can think the sun is gone,
but it is when those clouds vanish
that sunlight blinds you and,
with your eyes shut,
makes you feel that infinite warmth.

I had to be patient and I stood still,
I had to retain my tears and I stood still,
Now I need you and I stand still,
Standing still at the same place you left me.
